General information on EM Technology™ and how it was brought to Cameroon
EM™ is an acronym coined by its developer, Dr. Teruo Higa, consisting of the initial letters of "Effective Microorganisms™". As a commercial product, it is marketed and sold as "EM•1®" by our authorized licensees around the globe. EM Cameroon™ is a Cameroon based establishement, mandated by EM Research Organisation for the introduction and market of EM products in Cameroon and West Africa. EM Cameroon™ has established demonstration plots for experimentation and received in 2007 an authorisation from the Cameroon Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for the marketing of EM products in Cameroon.
EM•1® is a liquid containing many co-existing microorganisms. The major groups of microorganisms in EM•1® are lactic acid bacteria, yeast and phototrophic bacteria.
EM was first developed in 1982 as an alternative to chemicals in the field of agriculture. Through extensive research and experiments over time, EM™ became recognized as effective in various fields, including environmental remediation, composting organic waste, reducing odor in livestock operations, treating wastewater and many more. We call the technology that utilizes EM•1®, EM Technology™.
This revolutionary technology was introduced in Cameroon at the beginning of 2005 by Sama David Ngoh a born Cameroonian based in Switzerland, expert in managing international projects.
We are currently using EM products in Cameroon for the following domains; Agriculture, Livestock and Environment, wherein we have recorded tremendous results as you can read on our subsequent pages.
Thank you for joining us in promoting biological agriculture.
